Shakeology Flavor Reviews: What’s the Best Flavor?

When fitness enthusiasts and novice gym rats want to find a way to spice up their routine, they are more than likely to start looking for a great protein shake to help complement their efforts in the gym.

As the saying goes, no pain, no gain. However, no protein shake basically means no results. That might bother you, but it’s something you needed to hear.

To help increase your weight lifting efforts, I’m going to cover all the different flavors of Shakeology. I’ll go over what you should expect, what each taste actually tastes like, and which flavor is the most popular.

What is Shakeology?

Shakeology is a popular meal replacement shake among fitness enthusiasts, especially weight lifters and bodybuilders. It’s so popular because it not only contains a healthy dose of protein, but it also contains over 70 super food ingredients, which makes it one of the more nutritious protein shakes on the market.

When taken on a daily basis, after your workout or as a meal replacement during your day, Shakeology can be used for increasing your energy, helping you lose weight, build muscle, satisfy cravings, and it has even been said to help improve digestion, as crazy as that might sound.

Back in 2009 when Beachbody first launched their Shakeology product, it only came in two flavors: chocolate, and Greenberry (which is in fact green). Having these two flavors be very successful, Beachbody decided to launch some new flavors: The Vegan Chocolate, Vegan Strawberry, Vegan Vanilla, regular strawberry, and café latte.

Which Flavor is the Best?

Of course, Beachbody’s main goal is to make Shakeology flavors that people actually like. That way all the fitness junkies using it will keep using it. Crazy concept, right? So, to help bring in new customers and retain current ones, Beachbody launched the flavors mentioned above, but they also started producing sample packets. These samples contained just one serving of Shakeology, this allowed people who haven’t tried Shakeology before to taste it without the commitment of purchasing a whole bag.

People who haven’t tried Shakeology before would be smart to take advantage of these samples and to also stick to the classic flavors chocolate and vanilla. Once you’ve had a taste and can decide whether or not you like the flavor, you can make a decision to purchase a bag or not. If not, then maybe it’s time to broaden your horizons and try some other flavors.

You have the ability to choose any flavors you’d like. For example, you can stick to your core flavors of chocolate and vanilla, and perhaps try out the strawberry or café latte. There are some great recipes for the café latte to make a “Frappuccino” kind of shake.

What You Should Expect

This is why you’re here. You want to know what you should expect from all the different flavors. Of course, everyone has a preference, so it’s best for you to try a sample packet for every flavor before you make a final decision. So without further delay, let’s get into it.

  1. Chocolate: Chocolate is by far the most popular flavor, and has a very strong “brownie” taste according to a lot of users. This flavor was my favorite, and I loved to have it after my workout. Unlike the vegan chocolate, this flavor is absolutely outstanding. It is very thought when you blend it, and it really doesn’t have that “healthy” taste that you might think. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about when I say “healthy” taste.
  2. Vegan Chocolate: The vegan chocolate flavor is somewhat lackluster in comparison to its chocolate counterpart. It’s made from all-natural cocoa, so it does have a thicker after taste than the original. That being said, it blends much smoother as well and is lighter in general than the regular chocolate. Overall, people don’t like the vegan as much as the regular.
  3. Café Latte: This is the most recent flavor. Released in 2016, café latte is supposed to resemble a cappuccino drink. Many customers say that it’s best when made in the form of a smoothie. It has a nice coffee taste, includes all the original ingredients, and has close to the same amount of caffeine as an 8oz. cup of coffee.
  4. Strawberry: Strawberry is said to be very smooth and thick when blended, much like the original chocolate flavor. However, it’s said that it really doesn’t taste like your typical strawberry. Instead, imagine the taste of a strawberry milkshake, and that is very similar to what you’ll get with this flavor.

  1. shakeology-flavorsVegan Strawberry: The vegan strawberry flavor is a lot lighter than the original, much like the vegan chocolate is compared to the chocolate. But, customers say it also has a “grainy” taste when compared with the other flavors. As a result, a lot of people don’t like this flavor, as it gives you a weird feeling in your mouth when you’re drinking it. But, people say it’s very light and goes well with tons of different fruits, which is why people still use it.
  2. Vanilla: The vanilla flavor is said too much quite sweet when compared with the other Shakeology flavors. It is smooth when blended, and goes well with a variety of fruits and almond milk. Many people prefer the vanilla because of its ability to go well with many other ingredients when made into a smoothie.
  3. Greenberry: Last but not least, we have the Greenberry flavor. The name Greenberry might be a little misleading because you might be thinking it has a berry type of flavor. Well, not really. The Greenberry flavor tastes much like sweetened green tea. It’s not overly sweet though, so if you’re not looking for something very sweet like the vanilla, this might be for you. It’s also said that the Greenberry has an “earthy” taste if that makes sense. Overall, it’s not the most popular flavor, but it’s not the least popular one either (vegan strawberry).

Up to you. You need to pick which flavor you prefer the most. To do this, you’ll likely need to try them all, unless you find “the one” and simply can’t imagine drinking anything else. Why You Need the Body Beast Supplements

body beast supplements

So many people, when they think about getting huge and muscular, think about lifting some heavy a$# weight in the gym! While yes that is partially true, many people fail to realize that 80% of your results come from proper nutrition and supplementation. So, today we’re going to take a look at the Body beast supplements, and why you are going to want to use them in order to optimize your results.

When it comes down to the body beast supplements for the body beast program, what do you really need? I get this question a lot from both men and women who are using the fairly well know program, Body Beast.

In this post, we’re going to talk about why you should get the supplements, as well as why the Body Beast supplements are of high quality.

Why Do You Need the Body Beast Supplements?

To start everything off, the reason the Body Beast program was made, was to enable people to get MASSIVE! If you’re someone who is looking to pack on a ton of muscle, or develop a decent, well rounded physique, then you should definitely be using supplements

I would even say, that not using supplements alongside a program like Body Beast, is the same as putting setting yourself up for failure. The supplements give you that extra boost and strength, that whole foods simply wouldn’t give you.

What are the Body beast Supplements?

Fuel Shot Supplement – Blow past the fatigue with a couple drinks of this awesome energy drink. This dextrose and maltodextrin based energy drink is intended to get as many nutrients into the muscles fibers as possible. This will help you stay energized and pumped up during your workout. It also helps to renew the glycogen and electrolytes that you are losing during your workout.

body beast fuel shot

Hardcore Base Shake – If you want to get huge, then this is the supplement that will get you there. This supplement contains 18 grams of high quality whey protein, that will help give you better results, in a shorter amount of time. I like to use this in conjunction with the fuel shot to get the best results possible.

base shake

Max Creatine – With this creatine as part of your Body Beast supplements stack, you will get some really high quality creatine monohydrate. It’s 100% pure, meaning, there’s no preservatives, no fillers, just pure, clean, creatine. It’s recommended that you take roughly 5 grams daily to get the best results. Don’t make the mistake of getting a generic brand creatine supplement that gives you a bunch of crap. Make sure you do your research before buying any kind of supplements!

max creatine

Super Suma – Personally, I don’t think this is 100% necessary to have in your body beast supplements stack, but it is definitely beneficial for those who want to use it. Super suma’s main ingredient is the suma root, hence the name. It has a unique plant based enzyme blend that will help your body increase digestion, and absorption. It’s also recommended that you use this daily for the best results.

Shakeology – During this program, you really want to make sure you’re getting all the necessary micronutrients that you need to get the best results. Shakeology is a great way to get those micronutrients. Like I covered at the beginning of this article, getting proper nutrition is 80% of the battle when trying to maximize your results. That is why it’s so important to make sure your body is getting what it needs when doing a program like Body Beast.

Key Macronutrients For Body Beast

Below, I’m going to list some of the biggest macronutrients, and micronutrients, that you’ll want to put extra emphasis on while doing the body beast program.

  1. Carbohydrates – You’re going to want to make sure you get plenty of carbohydrates in, especially at the start of the program. The fuel shot supplement, that you should have in your body beast supplements stack, has 40 grams of carbs per serving. This is a great way to get some fast, and effective carbs. Carbs are the main source of energy for the human body. Which is why you need so many of them for this particular program. You’re going to be using a lot of energy! If you go to light on the carbs during this program, it’s likely that you’re going to start feeling sluggish, and low on energy. This means that you won’t be making very much progress.
  2. Protein – Everyone knows, that proteins are the main building blocks for your muscles. It’s pretty common knowledge that if you want to get huge, and pack on tons of muscle, you need to eat sufficient amounts of protein. This, in my opinion, is the most important macro nutrient to consume. Again, the hardcore base shake in your body beast supplements stack gives you a great source of protein. Other great sources are chicken, beef, fish, really any lean protein will be acceptable. Eggs are a great source of protein as well.
  3. Fats – Fats are key for controlling the hormones in the human body. There’s this misconception in the fitness industry that fats are “bad” for you, when in reality, it’s exactly the opposite. If you’re not getting enough fat in your diet, then your hormones will become off balance, which is a very bad thing! Fats are also great for controlling hunger.
  4. Creatine – Creatine is great. The MAX creatine supplement is definitely one that I’d recommend. The way creatine works, is it gets stored in your muscles as extra energy. So when you’re pushing your body by lifting weights, you’ll have more energy, and will therefore be able to get a couple extra reps in your set.

So, essentially, by drinking one shakeology shake every day, your body is being cleansed by shakeology of all the junk that has been built up inside of you over the years.

What are protein shakes?

protein powders

Protein supplements consist of vitamins and minerals that are needed by the body to repair your muscles after a workout. These kinds of shakes are usually mixed with milk, or water. Some also like to mix their protein shakes with fruit, or peanut butter. Generally, it will taste almost exactly like a milk shake, but with many more health benefits.

A protein shake provides for a healthy snack, or, if you make it large enough you can use it as a meal. Protein shakes also help you get in some extra vitamins and minerals, and amino acids that your body needs. But, some of these protein shakes can be really high in calories.

That being said, the amount of protein gained from these shakes helps tremendously in building muscle, and improving recovery. Protein shakes provide a nice, easy way to help you get the required amount of protein needed on a daily basis.

Protein shakes are becoming increasingly popular among athletes, and people who just want to be healthier. These shakes are easy to prepare, delicious, and healthy. However, to get the best results, you have to be aware of the important ingredients, which a perfect shake should contain. With hundreds of protein products on the market, it can be hard to know which is the right one.

It is because of this reason, that many people recommend that you read the nutrition label first. Before making any purchases. Once you find a product that you feel satisfied with, your next step is to find out what type of protein that the company uses in their product.

The best source of protein is whey protein. Some of the older shakes available in the market may contain soy protein, or something similar. However, it is recommended that you stay away from soy, as it’s not nearly as beneficial as whey. Not to mention, it’s much harder for the human body to break down, and digest.

Therefore, whey protein is the best option. It is one of the most effective proteins for the human body. It is easily absorbed and digested, which means that you’ll get the most bang for your buck by using it.

When selecting the shake, keep in mind what you are trying to achieve by using it. If you are someone who wants to lose weight, then opt for shakes that have weight loss properties. There are a few meal replacement shakes, such as shakeology, which are great options.

Shakeology vs Protein Shakes: The main difference

whey protein

The essential difference between shakeology and protein powder are the ingredients. Traditionally, protein powder mainly contain whey protein. Whereas shakeology contains much more than that.

Protein powders have a tendency to exclude many different vitamins and minerals that are included in shakeology.

While the amount of protein in the average whey protein powder is higher than shakeology, it’s not higher by that much. Only about 7 grams to be exact. And, protein powders don’t have even close to the same amount of nutrients.

Understanding which product is better, really just comes down to what you’re trying to accomplish by using the product. Make sure whichever product you use suits your needs.

What are the Shakeology Ingredients?

What’s in Shakeology?

I hear this question come up quite a bit. People want to know what exactly is in Shakeology. What are the Shakeology ingredients?

Beachbody, the creators of Shakeology, make all kinds of different health related products. Beachbody created P90x, Insanity, Focus T25, and much more. All this being said, means they have some kind of idea of what they are doing.

Shakeology is their premium weight loss shake. And I do mean premium, just look at the price.

Shakeology Nutrition Facts

Before we get too far into this, it is worth noting that each flavor has slightly different nutritional information. So keep that in mind. However, the core ingredients remain the same throughout all the flavor variations.

Shakeology is full of vitamins and minerals. It contains several essential vitamins, minerals, and foods that are referred to as “superfoods”, such as wheat grass.

A serving of Shakeology is between 150-190 calories, depending on the flavor, and will contain roughly 17 grams of protein. Each serving also only contains about 5 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of fiber.

People claim that the blend of ingredients will increase energy levels, improve digestion, and increase absorption of vitamins and minerals.

Here is a quick video of all the ingredients in Shakeology.

Does Shakeology Work?

The truthful answer is, yes. Simply using Shakeology will help you be healthier, and could potentially help you lose weight. However, in order to get the best results, use the product as it is intended to be used. If you are using Shakeology, but you go and eat two bowls of ice cream, then you shouldn’t be surprised when you don’t losing weight. This is really common sense stuff. To lose weight you need to make sacrifices, and cutting out those extra donuts is exactly the thing that you need to do.

I’ll leave a picture of Shakeology’s nutrition label below so you can see what’s in Shakeology.

My Shakeology Review – What You Need to Know

If you’ve landed on this page, then you are here looking for a Shakeology review. Here is my personal, unbiased review on Shakeology.

This post is not going to try to convince you to buy Shakeology, that’s not my goal here. My goal is to provide you with the best information possible, to help you make an informed decision.

My Shakeology Reviewshakeology review

Being a “gym rat” I’m always looking for ways to improve my health, and my results. This is where I started doing some research, and I had already been doing some Beachbody workouts, such as Focus T25, and P90x. So I had heard about Shakeology before. However, I wasn’t convinced of it’s effectiveness. So, I looked around on the internet, read some Shakeology reviews, and decided to try it out for myself. I’ll discuss my results, and my personal opinion on the product in the following post.

What Does Shakeology Have to Offer?

Let’s just get one thing straight right from the beginning. If you’re looking for that “magic” product that will solve all your health problems at once, then this isn’t the product you’re looking for. This is not a product that is going to fix all your problems.

This is however, a healthy meal replacement that can help you live a healthier lifestyle, and potentially solve health related issues.

Shakeology is primarily a meal replacement, which as you could probably guess, means that it is designed to take the place of a traditional meal. A couple benefits to using Shakeology as opposed to a regular meal is, it has less calories (150 calories/serving), it takes less time to prepare (2-3 minutes), and it is very nutritious.

Shakeology is a great detox, which helps you feel more energetic, and awake. It also helps your body in absorbing nutrients, which makes sense since Shakeology contains tons of nutrients.

Shakeology helps with weight loss. Shakeology is promoted with helping people to lose weight. This also makes sense, since each serving contains only 150 calories. As opposed to a regular meal, which could have anywhere from 500 – 1000.

The part that most surprised me about Shakeology, is that it is advertised to help eliminate food cravings. This really surprised me, but after trying the product I must admit that I did notice less of an urge to eat sugary foods, such as ice cream, and donuts (a personal favorite of mine).

It’s important that I mention the Shakeology ingredients in this Shakeology review. After all, what good would the product be without the ingredients?

Here’s a brief synopsis of what’s in Shakeology:

  1. Whey protein isolate (the most easily absorbed protein)
  2. phytonutrients (which includes polyphenols, anthocyanins, catchins, and flavenoids)
  3. Prebiotics
  4. Digestive enzymes
  5. 23 different vitamins and minerals

This is obviously very brief, and not descriptive whatsoever, but if you want to know more about the Shakeology ingredients, then go check out my full review by clicking here.

Shakeology Price

This is by far the biggest obstacle I had when deciding whether or not to buy Shakeology. The price tag looks pretty steep to most people (myself included), until I started thinking about it differently.

Shakeology is actually a very reasonably priced product. Now why would I say that? It is pretty simple. If you do the math, add up all the times that you eat out during the month, or how much you spend at the vending machine for a snack, and then think about how much you are spending on Shakeology. I’m willing to bet that you spend more money on eating out than you would on a bag of Shakeology.

You are spending more on junk food every month than you would on Shakeology. Instead of eating unhealthy junk food, it would make more sense to eat something full of vitamins and minerals correct?
