How to Stream PiYo Workout Online?

In an ideal world, any person can go to the gym every day and get the beach body that they want. Since we are living in the real world, we have to put up with squeezing several hours a week in at the gym just to convince ourselves that we are achieving some semblance of progress in our fitness regimen.

The PiYo workout online solves that problem for you by allowing you to participate in a low impact workout that you can do at home, or anywhere you please. According to the creator of the Piyo workout, Chalene Johnson, “you can sculpt your whole body without beating yourself up”.

What is the PiYo workout routine?

PiYo, as the name suggests, is a combination of Pilates and yoga. The piyo workout online is inspired by both of these popular routines, but does not strictly adhere to the same principles. To give you a better idea of what you get out of PiYo workouts, here are some moves you can try:

The piyo flip:

The piyo flip targets the chest, shoulders, arms, butt, and legs. Starting out in a plank position, you must bend your right knee to a 90 degree angle, while extending your right arm off the mat. Rotate your body into a side plank, reach behind you and land face up with you back bent. Repeat the rotation towards the other side (5 to 10 reps).

The PiYo Cross

The piyo cross targets the back, shoulders, abs, butt, inner thighs, and outer thighs. Start by standing with your feet wide open. Bend your body and form a W with your arms. Lower yourself into a sumo squat. Slowly stand up while rounding your arms as if you were about to dive into a pool. Return to your original position as you resume the sumo squat. (15 reps)

Runner

This looks to be the easiest of the sample exercise of the piyo workout online. As it requires you to maintain balance while moving your limbs asymmetrically. The workout targets the butt, abs, back, and hamstrings. Stand on your left or right leg with the opposite leg bent in front of you in a 90 degree angle. Your arms should be bent in a runner’s stance with one arm out in front of the standing leg. Bend your body until your torso is parallel with the floor.  (10 to 12 reps; both sides)

piyo workout

Why use the PiYo Routine?

As you can see, by combining the principles of Yoga and Pilates, one can move and stretch their body while working their core. The stretching part is related to yoga stances, while the movements are in line with Pilates reps.

Although it may look like a lot of work, it is a low impact activity that takes only a few minutes a day to complete. It can be done before and after your work, depending on which time is best for you.

Advantages of the PiYo Workout

Most routines require equipment of some sort. Even yoga and pilates call for you to buy expensive yoga mats and equipment. For the piyo workout online, you do not have to buy weights or an equipment. But you can enjoy shopping for workout clothes. Still, any loose or body forming clothing is fine as long as you are comfortable. The piyo workout also does not require any shoes.

When can I see changes after the PiYo workout?

Unlike other routines that promise unbelievably fast results, the piyo workout gives you a slow and steady progression, allowing your body to adjust to the workload that it receives every day. Luckily for you, trainers and physiotherapists can attest that physical changes to the body will be evident as early as 8 weeks, but only if you stick to the workout, and maintain a healthy diet.

Remember that cheat days can also impact your progress when it comes to working out. Binging out on 10 burgers one day a week pushes you back tenfold. That is why it is important to regulate the rewards you give yourself in terms of food as well.

Where can you get the piyo workout?

The piyo workout DVD’s are available only on the Beachbody website. The packages contains three DVD’s with 7 workouts that focus on basic movements, lower body exercises, upper body exercises, sweat challenges, drenching workouts, sculpting, and strength training. Apart from that, you also get free workouts that focus on your buttocks and your core.

You also get a quick start guide, a 60 day workout calendar, and a lean eating plan to accompany your workout. However, not everyone has a dvd player these days. You can try and wait for free streams from Chalene Johnsons newsletter, but the best thing you can do is subscribe to Beachbody on Demand.

Most Popular Beachbody Workout?

Fitness junkies back in the day didn’t have the luxuries that we have today. Back in the day people would occasionally go to the gym, do some cardio on a bike machine or the treadmill, and perhaps something else that’s now irrelevant.

Fitness, was often associated with going to the gym, which pretty much made working out not an option for a lot of people.

But, Beachbody started a movement that made working out at home a possibility, and even popular. Beachbody gave working out at home a “face lift”. They gave the consumer more variety, from bodybuilding programs, to yoga and meditation programs, to pure cardio programs. Ever since Beachbody came into the fitness scene, working out has never been the same.

The purpose of this article is to try and give you an idea of what the best Beachbody program is. And along the way, breakdown how Beachbody revolutionized the fitness industry.

Beachbody Workouts

Each Beachbody workout has a different purpose, and are very different from each other. While some were designed to help you lose a lot of weight, others were designed to help you gain weight. Some of them go on a more spiritual route, incorporating things like Yoga, and meditation.

Each trainer within the program has their own unique style. They have their own way of motivating you, and helping you reach your fitness goals.

The Focus T25 Workout

focus t25

Created by the famous fitness trainer Shaun T, the Focus T25 program is an extremely entertaining, challenging, and quick way to losing a lot of weight. Each workout is only 25 minutes long. But don’t let that fool you. The workouts contain no breaks whatsoever. So it’s 25 minutes of sweating and grinding.

The PiYo Workout

piyo workout

This program combines the muscle toning power of Pilates, with the incredible flexibility of Yoga to give you a toned, and slim looking body. PiYo requires absolutely no equipment, there’s no cardio, and it’s a very engaging and fun program. The methods used are actually quite genius, to be quite honest. If you would like to read more about PiYo, go check out my comprehensive PiYo review.

The Body Beast Program

body beast workout

body beast workout

This is Beachbody’s bodybuilding style program, designed to help you gain tons of lean muscle mass. This program helps you make all kinds of muscle gains by using a technique called dynamic set training. Which is a more intense variation on the traditional bodybuilding style of training. The Body Beast program is a total of 90 days, and was created by the champion body builder, Sagi Kalev. Read my Body Beast review my clicking the link.

The P90X Workout

p90x

Literally everyone has heard of P90x, and if you haven’t, then you’ve likely been living in a cave on a desert island. P90x is a 90 day program that incorporates a technique called muscle confusion. This technique is designed to keep you from hitting plateaus in your training. Which, will keep your progress coming at an exceptional rate. This program is nothing short of awesome. Tony Horton is an amazing personal trainer, who keeps you motivated to finish every workout, and leaves you wanting more.

The Insanity Workout

insanity

The Insanity workout forever changed my approach to doing cardio. Shaun T, the creator of insanity, created this program to push you to your limits, so that even the average person could become an elite athlete. This program is only second to P90x in terms of success stories, and copies sold. And for good reason. Insanity is by far one of the toughest workouts ever created.

Insanity the Asylum

insanity the asylum

This my friends, is the sequel to the Insanity workout. And, would be what most would consider to be the hardest workout ever created. It’s a 30 day program, that will transform your body, and give you a new idea of what pushing yourself to the limit means. If Insanity wasn’t enough for you, this program will be more than enough, that’s a guarantee. This will make  you into an elite athlete, and make you perform better than you ever though possible.

The 21 Day Fix

21 day fix

This program differs from most Beachbody programs, in that instead of gaining results slow and steady, you get results fast and furious. This program puts a unique twist on meal planning and portion control. In fact, many people would say that this is some sort of diet plan, rather than a workout routine. But, the results speak for themselves. People seem to get results at an incredible rate with the 21 day fix.

So, What’s the Most Popular Program?

To figure this out, I did a lot of research, using YouTube, Google, pretty much every social media outlet I could think of, and tried to determine which programs had the most amount of followers.

Youtube

My way I did my research on Youtube, was to gather the number of videos created about each program. The top 5 Beachbody programs on Youtube were:

  1. Insanity
  2. P90X
  3. 21 day fix
  4. Body Beast
  5. Focus T25

In that order.

Google

The way I did my research on Google was to find the search volume for each workout. In other words, find out how many people were searching for each product. The results for this were:

  1. P90x
  2. Insanity
  3. PiYo
  4. Body Beast
  5. 21 day fix

In that order.

Social Media

The way I did my research for social media, was I went to each of the product pages, and added up the number of followers across all social media. Meaning, I added up Facebook followers, Instagram followers, Twitter followers, and so on. Here are the results from this:

  1. P90X
  2. Insanity
  3. 21 day fix
  4. T25
  5. Body beast

In that order.

Conclusion

In the end, it ended up being a very close race between P90x and Insanity. But, based on overall numbers and the popularity of the product, I am going to give the most popular award to P90x. I think this is the right decision because it’s what got Beachbody started in the fitness industry. It created amazing transformations, and continues to do so. Overall, I would choose P90x over Insanity. But, it is a very close race between the two.

Reasons Yoga is Good for Weight Loss

yoga for weight loss

Did you realize that in order to lose weight, you don’t have to kill yourself doing cardio for hours on end? Well, what a lot of people don’t understand, is that this is achievable though yoga!

Yoga has a wide range of benefits. From improving mental health, relaxing your body, and yes, it helps with weight loss as well.

So, you’re wondering how something as relaxing as yoga could help you lose weight? We’re going to cover that in depth, in this article.

Weight Loss With Yoga

The biggest factor when doing yoga for weight loss, is to increase your heart rate, then gradually bring it back down to normal levels. You repeat this process over the course of your yoga session.

This style of training relieve stress from your nervous system, stress you would get from weight training, while aiding in weight loss.

Yoga puts extreme emphasis on improving breathing techniques. During yoga, your heart rate is going to increase if you’re active, which you should be. Instructors will often encourage people to connect with their breathing in between poses, to regulate their heart rate.

Here are some yoga poses to get you started in the right direction.

crescent pose

  1. The plank. This works your arms, shoulders, and core muscles.
  2. The lion pose. This pose has been said to work out the face, specifically your chin/neck area. Good for toning up that double chin.
  3. The Upward facing dog. This works the arms, shoulders, and stretches out your back.
  4. The Boat Pose. This one is a bit more challenging. It is especially good for those abs! (everyone loves abs, it is known).
  5. Garland Pose. Good for the legs, especially the quads and glutes.
  6. Peacock Pose. Is also good for the legs, and is said to even help with digestion. I don’t know if i believe that or not lol.
  7. Crescent Pose. Also good for the legs. I see a pattern here..
  8. Locust Pose. Great for the abdominal wall.
  9. Frog Pose. Helps improve your posture, which in turn will make you look thinner, and in better shape.

How can yoga aid in weight loss?

If you’re really struggling with losing weight, then you’re probably thinking that yoga isn’t the answer to all your problems.

Yes, specific yoga poses are very difficult, and require a lot of conditioning, and skill. But most aren’t THAT hard.

So why should you consider yoga, over something like resistance training, or traditional cardio?

The answer is simple. Yoga is the best of both worlds. It incorporates resistance training when you’re holding the poses. And, it by default increases your heart rate, which covers the cardio side of things.

Yoga is much more than simply stretching. Which is what most people think of when they hear yoga. There’s actually studies that show that yoga is exceptional for weight loss.

If you’re interested, Beachbody has a great Yoga and Pilates program, called PiYo. You can check it out by clicking the link.

Mental Benefits of Yoga

When you begin your journey into doing yoga, you’re going to start seeing things around you differently. Yoga has been said to change people from the inside out.

You become “aware”, so to speak. You begin the process of disconnecting from your ego, or yourself. And you begin to connect with the world around you.

Since we as people usually have pretty big ego’s, we are susceptible to making bad decisions as a result. When you train your mind through consistent practice of yoga, your mind is freed. You mind in a sense, becomes liberated from itself.

boat pose

Physical Benefits of Yoga

Yoga is comprised of hundreds, if not thousands of postures and poses, which can be made into any number of sequences. We covered just a few of them above. Each pose provides a different benefit.

Yoga is a great way to detoxify the body. Which in turn, is a great way to help you lose weight. What does this mean? Detoxifying means to “cleanse”. So, you’re cleansing the body of any stagnant crud that might be build up. I don’t need to specify where this crud might be build up, I’m sure you can figure it out.

Yes, yoga is great for burning calories, and purifying the body. But it’s also great for improving flexibility, strengthening your muscles, setting the mind at ease, and giving you a sense of peace.

But, if your main goal is to simply lose weight, then certain forms of yoga are definitely better than others. For losing weight, I recommend the vinyasa flow form of yoga. The PiYo program utilizes this very well.

The vinyasa flow is a very fast paced flow, which is great for cardio, and for resistance training. This will give you the best chances of increasing weight loss.

Love Who You Are

The key message that yoga teaches, is that you need to accept yourself for who you are, and learn to love yourself. Yes, yoga is a great tool for weight loss. But above all, it strives to improve your quality of life.

Yoga is great for improving your mindset, and increasing confidence in yourself. So, when the going gets tough, do more yoga! Lol, but seriously, yoga is really great.

Does Yoga Help With Weight Loss?

I think by now the answer to this should be pretty clear. Yes, yoga most certainly helps with losing weight. Provided that you do the right type of yoga.

I would recommend that you first focus on the area’s of your body that you want to improve on the most.

Have some favorite yoga poses that I didn’t cover in this article? Leave them in the comment section! I’m sure everyone here would love to find some great poses that they could try out on their own!

PiYo Nutrition Guide

No one dislikes a healthy looking body. Every individual strives to get the transformation to be what he or she believes he or she should. However, you cannot achieve this if you do not give attention to it. That is why many like you have an interest in either losing some pounds. In the same way, others just focus on that amazing transformation that will leave many wonders what you did to yourself. The majority of the sure routes are not always appealing to many. This is to imply that in most cases you will be compelled to let go some aspects of your lifestyle. Some require huge financial investment. Others will demand a change in your diet. While others still will call for your time and energy to exercise. PiYo nutrition plan is one of these distinct methods. It has an assured outcome with absolutely no side effects. Piyo nutrition guide helps you to develop a lean eating plan that is a sure means of reaching your goal. The nature of the Piyo nutrition guide which does not have any form of side effects on your body makes it a secure approach to model your body to what you want it to be.

In this way having a proper breakdown of the Piyo nutrition guide is a distinctive move for you to attain the objectives you have. Having this understanding, I am therefore here to help you out on this in a distinctive way. My breakdown will be an exceptional guide to help you manage through the hype. I will also give attention to common questions you might be having about the Piyo nutrition guide. In the same way, I will also ensure that I remain helpful in terms of tips on how effectively tweak the PiYo meal plan. This will be based on your particular situation hence no potential confusion due to generalization.

PiYo nutrition guide is very important for you. This is mainly because it does not only focus on helping you to burn fats, build lean muscles as well as stay healthy. It does these and much more. For instance, it helps you ensure that you determine the amount and type of food you should eat. In order to be able to achieve a lot from the plan, the following steps are very integral.

Step 1: Why Step

This step is not only difficult but it is also tricky. It involves establishing the reasons why you want to start the program. The reason is that each and every step of the PiYo nutrition guide is hard and challenging. Therefore minus motivation and commitment, it is very rare that you will be able to make it to the end. This step, therefore, helps you to figure out whether you are prepared to go through the program to the end. It is important to help you go through the tough first-month process. It focuses on helping you establish the source of motivation that you have and support that will help you stick on even when things turns out not to be as impressive and appealing as they might have been. This step sets the foundation for a other steps in the program.

piyo workout

Step 2: Calculate your calorie target for weight loss

You are supposed to measure your current weight and then multiply it by eleven. This is to be able to establish the caloric baseline. The weight should be entered in pounds. Once this has been done, your maintenance calories are obtained by adding 400. Then subtract 600 from your result in order to obtain your caloric target. The result is considered to be the target value that you should use in the second step.

Step 3: Choose the PiYo eating plan that fits your calorie target

It is important that you round up your calories to 1200 in the event that the calorie target is below 1200. This is important because it is not healthy to eat a little less than that for a few days. It is important to note that the numbers are approximated. When you are not hitting the exact target you should not be stressed. What is significant is you eating healthy and ensuring that you stay within the 200 calories of your target. The following are plans which you can follow based on your calorie target.

A lot of attention should be given to the PiYo nutrition guide. This is because it gives you a balanced approach. It also ensures that you have all the energy you need to power through your workout. This happens while it still helps you to shade off pounds. For each of the plans about 40% Carbohydrates, 25% fats, as well as 35% protein, are worked out.

Step 4: Choose from a huge list of PiYo- approved food.

This is the most interesting part of the PiYo nutrition guide. This is because you are left to choose for yourself. You are guiding yourself on what food and what amount of it to eat. It is different from the old diet habits which constricted one on what to eat. This step allows you to be in control. In the same way, the PiYo nutrition guide has multiple choices that one can choose from. This means that you are not compelled in one way or the other to eat what you do not want to eat. Its nature helps you to have the best possible combination of minerals, vitamins as well as other healthy nutrients. When these are combined with the other natural benefits of drinking Shakeology on a daily basis the outcome is very impressive. Actually when you adhere to all these steps of PiYo nutrition guide be sure you are on your way to building muscle mass. You will be able to boost your metabolism as well as loss weight. The outcome will be impressive with absolutely no side effect that other methods that are available in the market have. To read more about PiYo, check out my PiYo review where I break down everything in depth.

Piyo Review

PiYo review

piyo review

While PiYo may seem like a new kid on the block, this exercise system which combines Pilates and Yoga (hence PiYo) has long established roots. It’s proving popular amongst those looking to get a long, lean appearance without bulking up through weight lifting.

PiYo creator Chalene Johnson loved the results she was getting from yoga but says she was too impatient to stay for long periods in the postures so she designed an exercise program that gave her the outcomes she wanted without the long holds she found boring. As a result PiYo students can have the flexibility for which yoga is famous, alongside the lean musculature seen on dancers and Pilates students – but it doesn’t stop there because the inclusion of cardio moves, particularly in between those hold movements’ gives a calorie-torching pace to the workouts which makes them intense and exciting.

What is the PiYo workout?

A typical PiYo session will include a range of movements for the whole body, using body weight exercises and functioning like a cross between a flow yoga session and a dance class. The length of a PiYo workout can vary from 20 minutes to 50 and will also bring dance and martial arts elements into the mix to keep the workout fresh and exciting.

While every PiYo workout will include some cardio, some stretching and some body weight activity, the design of the sessions will vary depending on the body area being targeted and the purpose of the session. From the PiYo DVD, as an example the Sweat’ session incorporates lunges and sun salutations to warm the body and get it ready to work hard, then balance exercises intermixed with skater slides to boost the cardio component and that’s balanced by planks and some core work to bring body weight components to the workout – finishing with some power moves like burpees and squats to give a solid workout for the lower body that leaves you feeling energized and full of endorphin highs. On another day, the workout might incorporate specific exercises for spinal strength, upper body toning or whittling the buns and tum’ areas.

Clever modifications of classic exercises make PiYo a winner for injured athletes or those new to exercise, for example, runners pose is like a dead lift without the strain that weightlifting puts on the back. In PiYo you move the weight to your right leg and lift the left foot from the floor, keeping the left knee bent. Then you tilt forward as you push that leg out behind you and tilt backwards a little as you swing the leg forwards and up to waist height. Twenty on each leg will give PiYo students a superb workout of the glutes and hamstrings without the risk of pain to the spine. Another useful feature of PiYo is that you can ramp it up where you feel confident by using modifications that challenge your balance or core strength, whilst taking less extreme options in other exercises that might inflame an old injury or put strain on joints not used to exercise. This range of options makes PiYo accessible to all.

Who is PiYo for?

Like many other tough’ exercise regimes, PiYo, done correctly, can burn up to 1,000 calories a session but unlike some other boot camp style systems, PiYo is designed to be gentle enough for those who have joint issues or can’t tackle high impact activity through injury or ill health. It’s okay (with individual modifications) for pregnant women to take part and while it requires a similar level of discipline to other dedicated exercise systems, PiYo is designed to give everybody a chance to participate all the way through the session by adapting the full form of each exercise through a series of variations that permit anyone to take part.

This is ideal for anybody who’s committing to exercise after a period of inactivity and especially good for those who’ve been injured and now need to ensure that their workouts are low impact.

piyo workout

What are the benefits of the PiYo workout?

The combination of Pilates and yoga gives PiYo participants long, toned muscles – but keeping the action moving at a rapid pace ensure that unwanted body fat gets torched between the body weight exercises. This means that muscle sculpting takes place alongside gaining the benefits of a resistance workout. While that’s not unusual, it’s the clever incorporation of cardio that gets the heart racing and delivers twin benefits, body fat-reduction and endorphin production. The high intensity interval work is as effective as shuttle sprints for cardio and the holds bring balance as well a strength, so you look more poised as well as slimming down.

PiYo can be taken in classes or there are two DVD packages, featuring Chalene Johnson herself. The DVDs are particularly good for those who aren’t able to commit to a regular class or want to train more regularly that a class-based system permits. The basic version offers an eight workout package and a deluxe version that contains two additional workouts and the strength slides’ which are plastic discs that allow participants to slide’ into each position, creating greater flexibility and a deeper stretch.

One of the standout features of PiYo is the way that it reduces aches and pains so that DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) becomes a thing of the past. You can plan a PiYo session for every other day without feeling the strain and it’s also possible for those who have already got a reasonable to high level of fitness to use two of the DVD-based workouts back to back, such as Heat’ and Lower Body’ to maximize their workout time.

Exercise can often seem like a prescription, something we’re forced to do but don’t necessarily enjoy. PiYo is a fresh and exciting new exercise system that – by focusing on linking movements, raising the heart rate and gently challenging the entire body – creates good results rapidly. What makes PiYo special is that the deceptively simple movements, undertaken with care, will deliver surprisingly rapid results, and the sessions themselves are paced just fast enough to be sure every student is working hard, but are accessible enough to ensure that nobody gets left behind.

Conclusion

For those who love to feel the burn’ but have developed impact injuries, for overweight or sedentary people who want to change fast, but aren’t ready to take on high impact aerobics or high intensity interval training, for pregnant women or those who have reached an age where they need to take care of their hips or knees, PiYo offers a real alternative.

Piyo Schedule Breakdown

What is a PiYo Workout?

piyo schedule

A PiYo workout is a combination of Pilates and Yoga that may help you lose weight, burn calories, gain more strength, and be more flexible. A PiYo Schedule is a workout schedule where you will have to do a PiYo workout a day except for rest days. A PiYo workout is just a 60-day workout program, and it is great for people who don’t really like high-impact workouts like jumping, push-ups, etc. This is a workout that excludes weight lifting or extreme and complex exercises, but it burns fat and can help you get toned or lose weight. There is a PiYo Workout Schedule where you will do each workout for a day. You would definitely need water for regenerating yourself, and a towel to wipe off some sweat. It is optional and up to you if you want to use yoga mat so that your knees or some parts won’t hurt, or a chair if you lose balance.

This is a workout that is more focused on losing weight than building strength. It only takes 45 minutes to 1 hour on doing these workouts, but it is a lot quicker than you think! So you that you will gain knowledge on every movement there is. You will not just learn it but you will also try it.
